Helping Heroes and Their Families
Need of Aid, the charitable arm of the St. Louis County Police Association Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 111, was established as a 501(c)(3) foundation in 2019. Our foundation exists to support the officers, professional staff, and families who dedicate their lives to keeping St. Louis County safe.
Our Purpose
Need of Aid was created to provide emergency financial assistance to St. Louis County Police officers, professional staff, and their immediate family members facing traumatic injury, illness, or unforeseen hardship. We provide unrestricted funds that recipients can use however they need during these challenging times. Beyond financial support, we also organize meals and provide additional resources to help families through difficult situations.
Supporting Families
While our primary focus is helping officers and professional staff, we recognize the sacrifices made by their families. To honor these contributions, Need of Aid established a college scholarship program in 2021. Each year, up to fifteen students receive scholarships to assist with tuition, books, and other educational expenses, supporting their journey toward higher education and success.
Leadership & Governance
Need of Aid is overseen by a six-member board, comprised of commissioned St. Louis County Police Officers. The Board of Directors manages the organization, approves all benefit assistance grants, and ensures the foundation operates with transparency and integrity.
Our Supporters
Our work is made possible through individual and corporate donations. Need of Aid also hosts fundraising events, including an annual golf tournament and trivia night, to raise funds for our programs. All contributions are tax-deductible, allowing donors to make a meaningful impact while supporting a worthy cause.

Our mission is simple: to ensure that St. Louis County police officers, professional staff, and their courageous families are financially and emotionally supported when they need aid the most. We provide a lifeline during times of hardship, honoring those who protect our community every day.
